You have to come in Sicily... ( easy!), usually you'll arrive
to the
Airport of Catania (or Reggio Calabria or Palermo).
the best way is to get to Catania, anyway.
From the airport of Catania, you can reach by
BUS or train
both the town of Messina or Milazzo.
I suggest to reach Milazzo harbour directly by bus from Catania
or Messina... since the new rail station of Milazzo its really
far from the ferry departure harbour and you risk of loose your
coincidences waiting the bus from the station to the harbour.
Anyway... GIUNTABUS
provides a bus
service from Messina to Milazzo (the website is actually in
italia: search for "orari" to reach the timetables
page. "da" means "from" , "per"
means "to").
Once in Milazzo you'll be able to choose between many different
ways to get to Filicudi island.

There you'll find (hopefully) some timetables for their ferries
(!!) and
hydrofoils.
It's often absolutely not updated... so consider getting your
informations by traditional ways (phone calls, man).
